Due to their manageable size in comparison with other pythons and extremely
docile temperament, ball pythons bred in
captivity have become popular as pets. Captive-bred ball pythons make
excellent beginner snakes. Ball pythons
caught in the wild have greater difficulty adapting to a captive environment,
which can result in refusal to feed and infection. Their diet in captivity
usually consist of rats or mice. |
